Oh, Canada....
This may simply be, the biggest cop-out post I’ve done on this thing so, apologies. It’s also pretty sad because, well, it’s kinda reminding me of the Lord of the Rings trilogies or literally any Christopher Nolan movie - did these Directors ever shoot a piece of film they WEREN’T in love with? Why are these movies 3 hours long when they could be 90 minutes? Why do I need to see Batman getting dressed in the morning, or Frodo stretching before the Mount Doom walk? Get. To. It.

…. that wasn’t the point I was trying to make at all.
The original brain nugget: did I ever write something I wasn’t in love with? Well much like these movie Directors and their filmstrips, apparently not - because I’m about to quote myself from a while ago:

Retrospectively, has the platform gotten better? Hell no. Many of us called this outright when we first saw it. I joined LinkedIn in the hay days, I just didn't know they were the hay days when I was in them. During the “51st State” rhetoric, I dropped 4k U.S. connections instantly and not unwarrantedly so - Trump, Trump, Trump, tariffs, Trump, and round the deranged merry-go-round I went. LinkedIn's feed, once a place for employment insight and innovation, became a cesspool of partisan algorithmic rage-baiting.
Our jobs, they get posted there because they (Microsoft) own the town square. They do this part, admittedly, very well.
Once a great tool, LinkedIn was more than just a job-search engine. Though personified, now they’re just ‘a tool’. [Which is something us Millennials say when someone's very, very lame].
I mourn the platform that was.
